Schedule of Events

Here is how it is all going down!…just in case you were wondering.

Friday:  Everone is trickling in, so we will be hanging at the house and welcoming the newcomers! When you get here, head on over! We can’t wait to see you!

Saturday: AM: we will be at the house, getting ready, drinking coffee and possibly eating Quiche if I actually get motivated enough to make it. Come over, relax and drink some Jo.

Dave will head out some time before the rest of us. We will leave at 10:30 for graduation. With traffic and parking, we want to get there early.

PM: Graduation is over at 2:30. Dave will meet us back at the house when he is done doing his graduation stuff. We will head back to the house/hotel and get changed into something more comfortable..wink wink..oh, wait wrong type of party. =)

5:00 pm: The party officially starts and people will start showing up

Sunday: AM: come over, relax have some coffee and if someone is nice enough, maybe even donuts…note the dunkin donuts on the way to our house.  ;)

We will stay at the house and socialize and say some of our good byes and pretty much play it by ear.

See you VERY soon!

Getting Lost…or hoping not to

I have made some silly, yet accurate, maps for this weekend. I have a map of getting from the Hartford (Bradley) airport to the Hotel. Getting from the hotel to our house and getting from our house to graduation. Please note that the maps are not to size. I have put in landmarks to make it easier to gauge where you are..and for general interest. I highly recommend printing this…seriously download the file and print this…right now…not later…now.  Go stick it in your suitcase.  Good, thank you. I hope you enjoy!

Who, What, Where and When

We are getting close to graduation which means that many of you are coming from all over and will need rides from the airport.  I need to a copy of YOUR itenerary. In case you are not sure if I mean you, ask yourself these questions:

1. Am I getting on a plane?

2. Is that plane taking me to graduation?

If the answer to these two questions are yes, then I need a copy of your itenerary. I also need to know if you need a ride from the airport or if you are renting a car. Some people are coming in at or near the same times. We are going to try to coordinate airport pickups, so you may have a hitchhiker with you. But don’t worry, we just call that hitchhiker family,

So, send me your itenerary and airport pickup/rental car info.

See you soon!

No Vacancy

No Vacancy

For those of you who booked your hotel room you should all do a jig of joy because there are no more rooms at the hotel.  In fact, it seems that there are no more rooms in Greenfield.  I believe everyone has their hotel at this point. However, if anyone is still in need I recommend that you go to priceline.com and search in Amherst, Hadley, Greenfield (in case someone cancels a room), and Northampton.  You do not want to stay in Springfield, it is not that close.

We are getting close now, I can’t wait to see all of you!

The No Tell Motel

Off in the distance, down the dark and narrow road, you can see a red light blinking…VACANCY.

Don’t worry, that is not the picture of the hotel I have reserved.  Yes, I have reserved a hotel!  I have blocked 7 rooms at the Quality Inn. This hotel has been recently remodeled and is of moderate pricing. It is right in Greenfield, less than 5 minutes from our house. We chose a hotel in Greenfield because it is near us where everyone will be spending most of their time, and because it is a zoo at the hotels down by UMASS. Over 2 weekends there are 5 colleges holding commencement ceremonies….we wanted to be as far away from all of them as possible. Of course, with the exception of actually going to the one that whats-his-face is graduating from.

Here are the nitty-gritty details:

7 rooms (3 of the rooms are smoking)

2 Queen beds

$74 per night

Check in is at 3pm and check out is at 11 am

The rooms are reserved from Friday May 22nd through Monday May 25th.

If you would like to stay in the rooms for longer than that, please arrange so with the hotel. I am sure they can accommodate you.

When you are ready to claim your room please call: (413) 774-2211

The reservation is under Lauren Armstrong.  You are responsible for putting the room on your credit card when you check in…please don’t surprise me with a hotel bill.  That is not the best graduation present, thanks.

When you have claimed a room, please let me know. I would really like to keep track of this.

I would claim your room early so you know you are getting what you want. For those of you who want first floor room…and you know who you are…call, oh sometime around right now.

Happy sleeping!

Welcome

Welcome to Dave’s Graduation Blog. This is the place where I will be posting all pertinent graduation information. So you should bookmark this site. I will title each post by topic such as Hotel or Who’s Coming. If you click on those links they will take you to the post that has that information.

I recommend that you subscribe to this blog by clicking here. What this service does is every time I add something to the blog, you receive an email alerting you to the new post. This way you stay up to date on all the graduation information as the news breaks. As I will not be sending out emails every time I update, I suggest…recommend…possibly even insist that you do this. Thanks.

The commencement date is May 23, 2009 (This is also written underneath the blog title).

The way this blog works is I posts by categories. All things pertaining to the Hotel will be filed under Hotel in “Categories” on your right and things pertaining to the commencement will be filed under commencement. I am sure you sense the pattern.

If you have any questions you may email me (Lauren) or Dave.

In case you are asking, “Hey, isn’t Lauren graduating too?” Yes…though my ceremony is a week before Dave’s, my class won’t be done for three weeks following Dave’s. So we will celebrate mine with his…though he will have actually graduated and mine will be pending completion of my class. Though gifts are welcome for both mine and Dave’s graduation. Ha ha I kid because I love. =)

We can’t wait to graduate and we can’t wait to see you!
